ABACUS/Solvency II is based on a relational data model, about which you can obtain information here.
Data management in ABACUS/Solvency II takes place within a relational database. An expansion of the data model - or the use of existing data structures beyond the base configuration of the application - is possible at any time.
Customer-specific applications can be implemented in the existing application on the basis of this open data model at any time. The fundamental functionalities for this purpose, such as the generation of PDF or Excel files, are already part of the application.
Data organization in ABACUS/Solvency II is founded on a comprehensive partitioning concept. Based on this concept, various logical partitions are generated on a reporting date basis. Apart from the versioning of datasets, these partitions accelerate and simplify data access and data analysis.
Standardized, normalized XML interfaces are available to receive the raw data from the insurer’s upstream feeder systems. These interfaces guarantee that supply will be uniform and nearly free of redundancies for the user. Pre-processing of these data is not necessary when using ABACUS/Solvency II, since all data requirements are oriented towards the QRT specification of EIOPA.
